R&D SYSTEMS, INC. ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF R&D SYSTEMS CHINA

Minneapolis/September 1st, 2007/-- R&D Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of TECHNE Corporation (NASDAQ: TECH) today announced the official opening R&D Systems China Co. Ltd., a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE), which has been established for the purpose of improving the level of service offered to R&D Systems’ distributors and customers in China.  R&D Systems China Co. Ltd. will operate as a warehouse/distribution hub for R&D Systems’ cell biology research products and will also provide technical services and marketing support for the Chinese market.

With its administrative offices in Shanghai, and its warehouse distribution facility located in a tax-bonded zone conveniently close to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, R&D Systems China is ideally situated to offer excellent logistics for distribution of products to customers throughout China.

It is anticipated that by mid-September the warehouse will be fully stocked with products frequently ordered by our Chinese customers.  By October 1, 2007 R&D Systems China should be fully operational.
